The infamous Howard The Duck – overseen, of course, by George Lucas – is coming to the 4K disc format in the UK this summer.

Well, hands up if you saw this one coming. There’s a cavalcade of titles fans of the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format are waiting for at the moment. And the latest catalogue title to be announced?

Howard The Duck.

This was a film I saw at the cinema twice when it first came out (long story), and it’s actually proven to be successful over its subsequent assorted disc releases. Not bad for a movie that was one of the most infamous box office crashes of the 1980s.

The film arrives on the 4K format in the UK on July 5th, and will include a look back at the film, as well as features on its stunts, special effects and music.
