Hugh Grant, Josh Hartnett to join Guy Ritchie’s Five Eyes

The ensemble for Guy Ritchie’s globe-trotting action film is beginning to fill out, as Hugh Grant and Josh Hartnett sign up.

Just the other day we reported that Aubrey Plaza, co-star of Guy Ritchie’s next film, Five Eyes, was planning to ‘destroy’ Jason Statham ‘and make him like it.’ With new casting announced for the soon-to-shoot project, it seems The Stath may have even more on-screen challenges to contend with, as Hugh Grant and Josh Hartnett have now been added to Five Eye’s roster.

The casting for this film is really coming together quite nicely. Grant hasn’t reportedly signed yet, but will surely be keen to work with Ritchie again following his brilliantly-roguish turn in 2019’s The Gentlemen. Hartnett too will also be re-teaming with both Ritchie and Statham, following their collaboration on Wrath Of Man, which shot last year but has yet to release.

Cary Elwes and rapper Bugzy Malone have already been announced for the project which may well find itself with a new title at some point.

The film itself sounds brilliantly nuts, with Statham’s character, an MI6 agent who goes by the rather brilliant name of Orson Fortune, being paired up with a CIA tech expert (most likely Plaza, although this is as yet unconfirmed,) to stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that could presumably end all life as we know it.

We’ll bring you more updates on this one as we hear it, including further casting news.
