Ben Wheatley’s In The Earth is arriving on disc in the UK this October: more details right here.
A film that’s got one of the widest cinema releases to date for a Ben Wheatley production, In The Earth is a memorable horror movie that he started writing during the first lockdown all the way back in 2020. By the end of the year, he had the movie written, directed, completed and in the Sundance Film Festival.
Joel Fry, Hayley Squires, Ellora Torchia and Reece Shearsmith lead the small cast of the film, which tells of scientists heading into the woods as part of an expedition to do with finding a cure for a deadly virus. We covered the film extensively in issue 25 of our magazine, and it’s well, well worth seeking out (the film and the magazine!)
We now learn that Universal will be releasing it on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK too, with a date of 11th October 2021 earmarked. It doesn’t look like we’re getting much in the way of extra features, but that may change as the listing gets fleshed out.
