The Invisible Woman will see Elizabeth Banks in the lead role and the director’s chair.

Elizabeth Banks’ latest film as director, the reboot of Charlie’s Angels, lands in UK cinemas this weekend. But even as she completes the promotional tour for the movie, she’s already putting together her next directorial project.

She’s set to star in and direct Invisible Woman for Universal, a project she pitched to the studio. Eric Cressida Wilson, who penned The Girl On The Train, has been recruited to write the script.

The movie follows the new take on The Invisible Man, that Universal is launching into cinemas this coming spring. Whether the two films are linked or not isn’t clear at this stage.

Outside of Banks taking the lead role, there’s no further news on casting as of yet. But as we hear more on the project, we’ll pass the news on.
