Rick Moranis is lured back for the new Honey I Shrunk The Kids movie.

The revival of the Honey I Shrunk The Kids movie franchise is pressing ahead, and following rumours that bounded around the other week, it’s now definite: Rick Moranis has been lured back to the series.

Moranis has barely acted for the last couple of decade for very good personal reasons, and it’s something of a coup to get him back to reprise the role of Wayne Szalinski in the new film. The film will centre on the sun of his character, played by Josh Gad.

Furthermore, the film will not be heading to Disney+, rather that Disney is preparing the film for a theatrical release. Which is a nice line to write.

Joe Johnston, who helmed the first film, is back for the new one. Todd Rosenberg is penning the screenplay. No word yet on when production begins, but it sounds like this particular project is now motoring forward.
