Crikey: the fifth Indiana Jones film has finally completed filming, ahead of its release in the summer of 2023.

The saga of the fifth Indiana Jones film is edging closer to the finish line, with the news that the film has wrapped up shooting. Under the stewardship of director James Mangold, Indiana Jones 5 – as it won’t be called – finished up filming in the UK over the weekend.

Given how long it took to bring the film together – it’s nearly 14 years since that last one we don’t really talk about – it’s pretty momentous that the latest sequel has finally got over the line. It’s not been a straightforward shoot: even factoring in the pox, a shoulder injury to Harrison Ford added to the logistical challenges here. It’s taken some eight and a bit months to go from the first shot to the last.

There’s still time for pick ups and such like of course, with Indiana Jones 5 not due in cinemas until June 2023. But for the minute, a major hurdle has been negotiated, and the film heads into post production.

More as we hear it.
