Documentaries in and around the world of music are thriving at the moment – just look at Peter Jackson’s acclaimed delve into the world of The Beatles for an example of that – and as such, Apple is turning towards James Bond for inspiration.

It’s announced a new feature documentary entitled The Sound Of 007, which is going to explore the music of the James Bond movies over their decades of success. The film has the involvement of EON Productions and MGM, and the plan is to have it ready in time for the 60th anniversary of James Bond. A release date has been mooted of October 2022 thus far.

Mat Whitecross is directing, with John Battsek producing. Battsek previously produced the 2012 documentary feature Everything Or Nothing, that dug into the history of the James Bond movies for their 50th anniversary.

More on this one as we hear it, but do expect official archive footage and lots of interviews. We’ll keep you posted…
