Belfast actor Jamie Dornan has been cast in Netflix and Skydance’s spy thriller Heart Of Stone – Gal Gadot will costar.

Variety reports that Jamie Dornan has signed on to star in spy thriller Heart Of Stone. The film is produced by Skydance and Netflix, and will costar Red Notice's Gal Gadot.

Dornan most recently graced our screens in Kenneth Branagh’s semi-autobiographical awards contender Belfast. The film is based on Branagh’s experience growing up in Northern Ireland, where Dornan is also from. He also starred in BBC drama The Tourist.

Plot details for Heart Of Stone have not been released yet, but we do know that British director Tom Harper will be at the helm. Harper is best know for directing 2018 film Wild Rose starring Jessie Buckley, as well as episodes of gangster series Peaky Blinders.

The screenplay will be co-written by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder. Rucka is an accomplished comics writer who has contributed to Wonder Woman and Gotham Central for DC Comics, as well as The Punisher and Wolverine for Marvel. He made his screenwriting debut on 2020’s The Old Guard, starring Charlize Theron, which was also a collaboration between Skydance and Netflix. Allison Schroeder co-wrote drama Hidden Figures alongside Theodore Melfi, for which they won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Heart Of Stone is produced by Skydance, with Netflix acquiring the worldwide rights to the film in January 2021. The two companies have partnered up on several films, including The Old Guard and Michael Bay’s 6 Underground. It’s also not the first time Gal Gadot has teamed up with the streaming platform. Last year she starred in action-comedy Red Notice, which Netflix claims is its most-watched movie of all time and is now developing into a trilogy.
