Jane Austen’s Emma is heading back to the screen, with Anya Taylor-Joy headlining.

It’s been just over 20 years since the last high profile feature film adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel, Emma. That one featured Gwyneth Paltrow in the lead role, and was directed by Douglas McGrath.

Now though, a new feature take on the book is coming, with the cast led by Anya Taylor-Joy. She’s star alongside Johnny Flynn in the film, that’s being backed by Working Title and Blueprint Pictures. Autumn de Wilde is directing, with the script penned by Eleanor Catton.

Filming is underway now on the movie, that’s shooting in the UK. No release date has thus far been confirmed, but we’ll let you know when we get one.
