Jason Momoa, star of Dune, Aquaman and Game of Thrones, is set to join the ensemble cast for Fast & Furious 10.

Action star Jason Momoa is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of Fast & Furious 10, the upcoming, er, tenth main entry in the Fast and Furious film franchise. Naturally, at this point, any kind of plot details are shrouded in secrecy, but this marks the first major casting announcement that we’ve heard for the next film in the series. Up until now, the highest-profile casting news to emerge from the project came from series’ regular, Dwayne Johnson, who announced he had decided not to return, following his very public ‘conversation’ with Vin Diesel.

Speaking of Diesel, he is set to return, whilst Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Michelle Rodriguez are all expected to join him. It’s quite possible that Momoa joins the franchise as the next villain, although that is yet to be confirmed. Justin Lin will direct the final two films in the series, having helmed five of the series’ nine films already.

The films will follow the release of of 2021’s Fast & Furious 9, which earned more than $700 million at the box-office. Fast & Furious 10 is currently slated for release on May 19th, 2023 and will be shot back-to-back with Fast & Furious 11, although we’ve seen other big action productions plan to do the same in the last couple of years, before being forced to change things around.
