Director Guy Ritchie reunites with Jason Statham – and Mindhunter’s Holt McCallany is on board too.

As had previously been reported, Guy Ritchie – following his incoming The Gentlemen – is making another crime thriller, this time heading back to the world of gangsters. And this time reuniting him with Jason Statham, who he gave his big break to in Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels.

The new film is a revenge thriller that’s a remake of a French movie called Le Convoyeur. Ritchie’s film will now go by the name of Cash Truck, and it follows the similar story of a mysterious character (played by The Statham), whose job it is to shift hundreds of millions of dollars in cash around Los Angeles on a weekly basis.

The film is set to juggle assorted timelines and character’s perspectives, and we now learn that Holt McCallany, of Mindhunter fame, is the latest to join what should be a sizeable ensemble.

The shoot of the film kicks off in the UK in November, with further work then taking place – as you might expect – in Los Angeles.

UPDATE: We now learn that MGM has picked up the distribution rights for the movie, and that Scott Eastwood too has been added to the cast. Those rights, though, don’t cover the UK, so we wait and see who’ll acquire the film for release over here.
