The 45th birthday of Jaws is being marked with the film’s debut on the Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray format, and the first details have been released.

Universal is planning to celebrate the 45th birthday of Steven Spielberg’s iconic Jaws in some style later this year.

It’s been known for some time that the studio was planning a fresh disc release this year, and more details have now come to light. It’s releasing the film for the first time on the Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray format, and more details of that are due shortly. But it’s also teased that a special edition with a 44 page collectible booklet will be available too.

The news of the confirmed release was picked up over at The Digital Bits, which is reporting that Jaws is set for release on June 2nd in the US. In the UK, we get the disc a day earlier, on June 1st. It’s available for preorder right here.

Confirmed special features include:

  • The Making Of Jaws
  • The Shark Is Still Working: The Impact & Legacy Of Jaws: The Restoration
  • Deleted Scenes And Outtakes From The Set
  • Original Theatrical Trailer

A Steelbook version will also be available too in limited quantities.
