Kenneth Branagh upcoming period drama Belfast will arrive in US cinemas in November, Focus Features has announced.

Kenneth Branagh’s next film is the delayed Death On The Nile, which he finished last year and had circumstance been different would have already been released. He’s also pretty much done his film after that too though. Belfast, which he has both written and directed, will be released in US cinemas later this year on November 12th, it has been announced.

The film, set in the 1960s,  tells the story of one boy’s childhood during the tumult of life in Northern Ireland, where the filmmaker grew up.

Focus Features is handling release duties in the US and Universal is managing worldwide territories.

In front of the camera, Caitriona Balfe, Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan, Ciaran Hinds and 10-year-old Jude Hill will appear. Dornan and Balfe will play Hill’s parents with Dench and Hinds featuring as their ‘sharp-witted’ grandparents, something we’re already looking forward to.

Production concluded last October. When we hear a firm UK release date, you can be sure we’ll let you know.
