Kevin Bacon and Farrah Mackenzie are the latest additions to the cast of Netflix film Leave The World Behind, written and directed by Sam Esmail.

Sam Esmail’s Netflix film Leave The World Behind already boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, and Myha’la Herrold. Now, Kevin Bacon and Farrah Mackenzie have also joined the project.

The film is based on the novel by Rumaan Alam. In it, a family vacation on Long Island is interrupted by two strangers, who bring news of a mysterious blackout. As the threat grows, two families must decide how to survive the potential crisis, and deal with their inner feelings as the world collapses around them. There’s no news on a release date yet, but we know plenty about the cast and crew.

Sam Esmail, who is writing and directing the movie, is best known for creating, writing, and directing the Rami Malek-starring series Mr. Robot.

Bacon is well known for his prolific film and TV career, with roles in everything from Friday The 13th, to Footloose, to X-Men: First Class and Patriots Day. Meanwhile Farrah Mackenzie has appeared in TV sitcom United States Of Al and Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky.
