Brad Pitt’s Plan B production company, who recently oversaw Minari, will produce The Husbands, starring Kristen Wiig.

Kristen Wiig has been tapped to star and produce in a drama in the style of The Stepford Wives, about a woman who moves into a seemingly-perfect community where all is definitely not as it seems. The film is adapted from Chandler Baker’s novel, which Baker will adapt herself for her feature screenwriting debut. No director has been announced yet.

The synopsis reads: ‘The Husbands follows an overworked mother who, while house-hunting in a nice suburban neighbourhood, meets a group of high-powered women with enviably supportive husbands. When she agrees to take on a legal case involving the untimely death of one resident’s husband, she risks exposing not only the secrets at the heart of her own marriage, but the true secret to having it all, one worth killing for.’

Brad Pitt’s Plan B production company will produce the film. As well as rolling out an enviable slate of critically-acclaimed films, Plan B’s output often has a progressive slant to both its films and to those who make them. A female director is being rumoured for this project, although who it is we don’t know. We’ll update you when that announcement finally comes.
