Based around discovered audio interviews, a new documentary is set to give a fresh insight in Stanley Kubrick and his thinking.

The late Stanley Kubrick was an infamously private man, who wasn’t known to talk publicly about his movies. As a result, much of the discourse around his cinema comes from others.

But documentary director Gregory Monro has dug into newly discovered recordings of interviews with Kubrick, where he shares his thoughts on his own movies, and his thinking behind a lot of his films. By the sounds of it, that just scratched the surface of what’s in the upcoming film.

That film goes by the name Kubrick By Kubrick, and a trailer for is has been released. It looks like this…

The official synopsis reads…

A rare and transcendent journey into the life and films of the legendary Stanley Kubrick like we’ve never seen before, featuring a treasure trove of unearthed interview recordings from the master himself.

The film has been completed, and will be released at some point this year. More, as always, as we hear it.
