The adaptation of Gabielle Nevin’s novel The Storied Life Of AJ Fikry has announced the cast ahead of the Cannes Marketplace.

TV favourites Kunal Nayyar, Lucy Hale and Christina Hendricks have all signed on as both cast and producers to The Storied Life Of A.J. Fikry. Whilst having plenty of film credits to their names, the trio are more well known for their work on the small screen, Nayyar famously starred as Raj in long running sitcom The Big Bang Theory, whilst Hale starred in Pretty Little Liars for seven year and Hendricks rose to prominence in HBO’s Mad Men.

The film is based on the novel of the same name, written by Gabrielle Zevin. Her YA novel Memoirs Of A Teenage Amnesic was adapted for film in 2010 and rights to her latest novel Tomorrow, And Tomorrow, And Tomorrow have been bought by Paramount ahead of the book release.

The Storied Life Of A.J. Fikry is set to by a quirky romance, with the books plot giving us plenty to look forward to –

A.J. Fikry, the grumpy owner of Island Books, is going through a hard time: his bookshop is failing, he has lost his beloved wife, and a prized rare first edition has been stolen.

But one day A.J. finds two-year-old Maya sitting on the bookshop floor, with a note attached to her asking the owner to look after her. His life – and Maya’s – is changed forever.

The film is being shopped at the Cannes Marketplace, with filming expected to start later in the year.
