Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding star in Last Christmas, a new movie underpinned by the music of George Michael.

Director Paul Feig has been on UK shores for much of the last year, as he puts together his new film, Last Christmas.

The movie is based on a screenplay written by Bryony Kimmings and Emma Thompson, and it’s a festive romance with Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding in the lead roles. Also in the cast are Thompson herself, Michelle Yeoh, Ingrid Oliver, Sue Perkins, Patti LuPone and Lydia Leonard.

The film is digging into the late George Michael’s songbook too, and I’d suggest that may be where the title of the movie has come from. And we’ve now got the latest trailer for the film, and an official synopsis.

The first trailer, from back in August, is here…

And the synopsis reads…

Kate (Emilia Clarke) harumphs around London, a bundle of bad decisions accompanied by the jangle of bells on her shoes, another irritating consequence from her job as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop. Tom (Henry Golding) seems too good to be true when he walks into her life and starts to see through so many of Kate’s barriers. As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two. But sometimes, you gotta let the snow fall where it may, you gotta listen to your heart.

It lands in UK cinemas on November 15th.
