Lena Heady to make directorial debut with psychological thriller, Violet

Lena Headey will make her debut as director adapting the novel Violent from SJI Holliday: more details here.

Lena Heady, star of the likes of Game Of Thrones, Dredd and Fighting With My Family is turning her hand to directing. The actor will be helming an adaptation of the novel Violet, penned by SJI Holliday. British production company Goldfinch Entertainment is behind the project althoughas yet, further details are scant.

The story certainly sounds intriguing enough as it ‘follows two solo female travellers who immediately hit it off and decide to team up for the next leg of their adventure. As the journey continues things start to unravel – because neither of the women is who they claim to be.’

According to Deadline, the script has been penned by debut feature writer Gareth Pritchard, who is also producing.

Although the project hasn’t yet got to the casting stage, Heady’s illustrious and varied acting career thus far means she must have an exciting contact or two on hand. We’ll be watching this one unfold and let you know as we hear more.
