Liam Neeson in a car, with a bomb, and having to do as he’s told to keep his family safe: details of his next project, Retribution, right here.

He’s been hovering around the top of the UK box office charts of late in the movie Honest Thief, and Liam Neeson is to continue his dedication to action thrillers with his latest project.

He’s signed on to take the lead in Retribution, a film that’s a remake of a Spanish movie by the name of El Desconocido. I’ve not seen it, but there are comparisons made with the film Speed when it comes to its plot.

Comparisons may be putting it mildly as it happens, with this one following a businessman who discovers that somebody’s put a bomb in his car. What’s more, unless he keeps following instructions, the bomb will go off. That also sounds a bit like the film Neeson made on the train the other year.

Nimrod Antal – who made Predators – is directing this one, working from a screenplay by Chris Salmanpour and Andrew Baldwin. No word yet on when to expect the film. Expect the poster to have Neeson holding a gun on it though.
