Windfall will feature Lily Collins, Jesse Plemons and Jason Segel amongst its ensemble – more details on the project here.

Some exceedingly-promising talent is coming together for the planned Netflix production of Windfall, a film being touted as a Hitchcockian-style thriller. It promises to be ‘a modern-day noir that follows a young couple who arrive at their vacation home only to find it’s being robbed.’

Little else is known about the plot, or indeed the production itself at the moment, but the creative team behind the project is reason enough to be optimistic.

The film looks like it might be a single location three-hander, with the talents of Jesse Plemons, Lily Collins and Jason Segel making for an intriguing ensemble. Equally exciting is the writing talent behind the film: The Discovery's Justin Lader has co-written the script alongside Andrew Kevin Walker, the scribe behind the legendary 90s crime noir, Seven.

Charlie McDowell, who frequently collaborates with Lader – including on 2017’s The Discovery – will direct.

No release date has yet been set for the film, but we’d imagine we’ll be seeing it at some point next year. Collins will also be working with McDowell on the upcoming film, Gilded Rage, about ‘the infamous murder of investment banker Thomas Gilbert Sr, whose death was originally believed to be a suicide until an investigation proved otherwise.

We’ll bring you more on this one as we hear it.
