Lily Gladstone joins Scorsese’s Killers Of The Flower Moon

Casting for Martin Scorsese’s next film continues, with Lily Gladstone joining Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro in the movie.

Following his successful 2019 collaboration with Netflix on The Irishman, streaming companies continue to fund Martin Scorsese’s lavish dramas, happy to appropriate some of the cachet that comes from staging one of his epics.

Next up is Apple, who is working with the filmmaker on Killers Of The Flower Moon, a period drama starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. More casting news has emerged for the project with the announcement that Lily Gladstone will be joining the project. She’s playing the part of Mollie Burkhart, wife to DiCaprio’s character.

Gladstone has several film roles to her name, including a memorable turn opposite Kristen Stewart in 2016’s Certain Women. The actor is a descendant of the Blackfeet and Nez Perce native American tribes and will play a member of the Osage Nation tribe in Killers Of The Flower Moon

The plot for the film ‘ takes place in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts a string of brutal murders of Osage Nation Native Americans, which came to be known as the Reign of Terror. The Osage Nation, who were the richest people per capita in the world, were killed one by one after oil was discovered on their land. As the death toll rose, the newly-created FBI took up the case and unraveled a chilling conspiracy and one of the most monstrous crimes in American history.’

Killers Of The Flower Moon has an expected budget of $200m and as yet, no release date has been set. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
