Greta Gerwig’s film of Little Women has been scheduled for disc release in May.

Not only was Greta Gerwig’s new adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel Little Women richly acclaimed when it arrived at the end of last year, it was also a box office hit. The movie grossed over $200m at the global box office, over $100m in the US, and will return a solid profit to Sony Pictures. But chiefly, it’s also an excellent film.

We now know too when the movie will be landed on disc in the UK. Sony has announced a May 25th release for the DVD and Blu-ray editions of the film, and it’ll also be available to buy on download from May 11th. Obviously plans for releases are a little bit fluid at the moment, but that’s the current state of play.

No details as of yet as to extra features for the disc release, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
