The provocative filmmaker Gaspar Noe is set to torture our minds once more, as the trailer for Lux Æterna arrives.

It doesn’t really matter which genre Gaspar Noé chooses to work in, he’s more than adept at psychologically scrambling our minds. Watching films like Enter the VoidIrreversibleVortex, and Climax are experiences that leave you with what you might describe as ‘lasting impressions’, and judging by the trailer for the upcoming Lux Æterna, things look set to continue in that direction.

The filmmaker looks set to continue his bombardment on our senses, with the trailer definitely not advisable for anyone who isn’t fond of flashing lights.

The film looks set to tackle witchcraft whilst also acting as a commentary on film production itself.

Lux Æterna was completed all the way back in 2019 and released at Cannes that year, but Covid has slowed down its general release. The film is set for release in New York on May 6 and in LA on May 13 before getting a wider release soon after, at which point it will presumably find its way to the UK.

In the meantime, you can catch the trailer below but we’d advise giving your brain fair warning before pushing that ‘play’ button.
