M Night Shyamalan’s new movie is now set for a UK release in July, a week after it debuts in the US – more here.

None of the major studios have as many films on their roster for this year as Universal, and it’s now slotted in a July release for its latest collaboration with writer/director M Night Shyamalan.

It’s based on the comic book Sandcastle from Pierre Oscar Levy and Frederik Peeters, and Shyamalan has penned the script for the movie version, and directs too.

The cast of this one includes Gael Garcia Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Rufus Sewell and Ken Leung, and it tells the story of a family on an exotic holiday. They head off to a secluded beach and get a bit of rest, only to discover they all suddenly begin to age really rather quickly. Yikes.

The movie shot primarily in the Dominican Republic last autumn, and had been set for release originally last month. However, we now have a UK release date: Old will be with us on Friday 30th July over here, a week after its American release.

That’s all assuming, well, you can fill in the blanks there. Expect a trailer in due course.
