All four Mad Max films get the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray treatment, but the boxset has been delayed to the end of January.
Here’s very welcome news of a catalogue 4K boxset heading our way in time for Christmas. All four of George Miller’s Mad Max films to date are coming to the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format, in a set that’s heading to stores in the UK from November 29th 2021.
UPDATE: This won’t be out in time for Christmas. Due to a manufacturing problem, Warner Bros will now release the set on January 24th 2022.
We’ve already had a 4K release of the stunning Mad Max: Fury Road, and over in the States the original Mad Max has appeared on the format too. But this new set will mark the first time the first three movies have been on 4K disc in the UK.
The listing for the new set tells us it has 17 discs in it, although that doesn’t sound quite right to us. Happy to be proven wrong. Instead, expect each of the films on a 4K disc and a Blu-ray too, the latter of which will carry across extra features from the previous releases.
The set is available to order now, and you can find more on it, and pick up a copy, right here.
