Mark Kermode is bringing his monthly London film conversation show to free streaming for the next three months – and full details are here.

A monthly treat at the BFI Southbank in London has been the Mark Kermode Live In 3D show, known as MK3D to its chums. The show is a live evening of film conversation, hosted by Kermode, at which he invites a whole host of guests onto the stage. Show number 50 was celebrated last month, and the plan is for many more.

That said, in the current climate, live shows are a bit of a no-no, at least for the foreseeable future. And to plug the gap, the monthly MK3D events will continue, but as an online show, available free of charge.

Things kick off with the April show, that took place last night. The guests for this one – all interviewed remotely, of course – were Calm With Horses stars Cosmo Jarvis and Niamh Algar, the brilliant writer, actor and producer Meera Syal, comedian and podcaster Greg Proops and Kermode’s podcast co-conspirator, Jack Howard.

There was an interview too with new BFI chief executive Ben Roberts.

And you can see the full show here…

Future shows are scheduled for 18th May and 15th June.

The show can be found on the BFI’s YouTube page, here.
