The full version of Exorcist documentary The Fear Of God is to be made available for broadcast for the first time this Halloween.

Whilst we await news of any further episodes of the excellent Secrets Of Cinema TV series, Mark Kermode has confirmed on his Twitter feed that his documentary on The Exorcist is set to get a fresh airing.

He made, with Nick Freand Jones, what’s regarded as the comprehensive documentary of the film in 1998, going by the name of The Fear Of God. But it’s been a tricky documentary to legally watch.

However, Kermode has now revealed that the long version of the documentary is coming to BBC iPlayer this week. This is the version of the film that to this point you’ve only been able to see at festivals.

It’ll be on iPlayer at Halloween, landing at 10am on 31st October. Here’s Mr Kermode’s Tweet, announcing the news…

In separate news, Waterworld – a favourite of Dr Kermode’s – is now available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. Here’s a picture from that, just for the man himself.
