Mark Kermode’s documentary about The Exorcist, The Fear Of God, is to screen uncut on BBC Four this week: more details here.

Well, here’s the thing. Back in 1998, Mark Kermode wrote and presented a documentary by the name of The Fear Of God: 25 Years Of The Exorcist. Directed by Nick Freand Jones, the film has been available on the BBC’s iPlayer service for a good few months now, but as Kermode has pointed out in the past, the uncut version of it has never been broadcast on British television.

Well, until now.

Kermode, via his Twitter feed, has announced that the full Festival Cut of the film is set to get its television debut this very week. BBC Four is set to screen the documentary on Thursday November 4th at 11.55pm. This is the 81 minute version of the production.

If you don’t want to wait, you can watch it right now on iPlayer. But if you happen to be around at the end of Thursday, for the first time ever you can watch the full cut as it goes out too.

Here’s the information page on iPlayer for more on the film.
