Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver star in Noam Baumbach’s richly-acclaimed Marriage Story.

Everywhere that Noam Baumbach’s new film Marriage Story has played, rave reviews have followed. If you follow such things, expect the movie’s name to come up a lot in the upcoming season of awards.

The film centres on the marriage break-up of characters played by Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver, and notably the impact their divorce has on their children. Laura Dern, Ray Liotta, Merritt Wever, Julia Hagerty and Wallace Shawn round out the supporting cast.

It’s a Netflix production, and one that’s getting a brief theatrical release before heading to the streaming service. The movie lands in cinemas in November, and Netflix is due unleash it on December 6th. And here’s the trailer, with the synopsis underneath…

“Marriage Story,” stars Scarlett Johansson as an actress going through a grueling, coast-to-coast divorce with her stage director husband played by Adam Driver. Directed by Oscar nominee Noah Baumbach, the film also stars Laura Dern, Alan Alda, and Ray Liotta. Check it out in theaters November 6th and on Netflix December 6th.
