Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio headline Killers Of The Flower Moon – and we’ve got our first sign of a release date for it.

Now in post-production is Martin Scorsese’s first film since 2019’s The Irishman. And as with that particular production, he’s using a substantial amount of a streamer’s money to bring the film to the screen.

This time, Apple has stumped up some $200m so that Scorsese can shoot his adaptation of David Grann’s book. Eric Roth has penned the screenplay, and the film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons and Lily Gladstone. It’s been a project in the works to some degree for five years now, and filming wrapped up last October.

Apple has been mum about a potential release date for the movie, but it’d been widely assumed it was going to be positioned for an Oscar run in next year’s awards season. Now, screenwriter Eric Roth – in an interview with IndieWire – has confirmed the plan is to release it in November 2022.

“I’ve heard he’s well on his way to getting the editing done”, he also added, with Scorsese homing in on his final cut of the film. What the running time will be this time is anyone’s guess. We’d put our cash on: not short.

The full interview with Roth is well worth a read, and you can find it here.
