Matthew Vaughn is reportedly returning to the spy game for his next project, but expect lots of action too.

Matthew Vaughn is in the midst of putting together the cast for his next film, for which it appears he’ll be sticking with the espionage genre. It’ll follow the three Kingsman films Vaughn has made, including The King’s Man, a prequel film which is set to release this December after several delays. His next film won’t be part of that franchise, and is thus-far untitled.

It’s also set within the action espionage genre though, and the film will follow ‘a best-selling spy novelist who turns out to be a world-class spy suffering from amnesia. When her past comes back to haunt her, so does her memory in this global espionage thriller.’

Vaughn is writing the screenplay and his MARV Films production company is behind the project. The British filmmaker will also serve as a producer.

Although casting is not yet said to be complete, with some big names still in the mix, it has been confirmed that Bryce Dallas Howard is in negotiations to star. She’ll take the lead role as the spy who’s manipulated into thinking she’s a writer until her lethal skills return with her memories, leading her down a violent path of revenge against The Division, the shadowy group she used to work for. Also in talks to feature are Sam Rockwell as an ex-Division agent and love interest, whilst Samuel L Jackson will reportedly play a rogue agent.

Where this leaves Courage, Vaughn’s planned sci-fi movie, is unclear, but it seems that this film is the one he’s moving with first, at any rate. We’ll let you know more as we hear it.
