Michael B Jordan and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are bringing dramatic thriller I Helped Destroy People to Amazon, it’s been revealed.

Michael B Jordan and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are to feature together in a dramatic thriller titled I Helped Destroy People. The project has come together at Amazon and is based upon a 2021 New York Times article that charts the fortunes of a disillusioned FBI agent who begins leaking sensitive information to the press when he tires of what he sees as the the Bureau’s constant violations of its own rules on domestic terrorism.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the original Times article ‘told the story of Terry Albury, an FBI agent who was tasked with infiltrating Muslim communities post-9/11 as the only Black agent at his bureau. However, he grew so disillusioned by the War on Terror and what he saw as the agency’s violations of its rules on domestic terrorism that, after 16 years and commendations signed by directors Robert Mueller and James Comey, he began leaking classified documents to the press, hoping to expose a system that abused innocents. A morning sting operation apprehended him, and he landed a four-year stint in prison, convicted under the Espionage Act.’

The project was reportedly in high demand, with Amazon eventually securing it.

Both men are busy at the moment. Jordan is both directing and starring in the upcoming Creed III whilst Abdul-Mateen II can be imminently in Michael Bay’s Ambulance before appearing in Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom. He’s also set to star in Scent Of Burnt Flowers for his own production company, House Eleven10.

As such, it might be a while before we hear any more on this one, but as soon as we do, we’ll let you know.
