Two stars with long-standing action credentials will go toe to toe in an upcoming action thriller by the name of The Commando.

Michael Jai White has signed up to star opposite Mickey Rourke in the soon to shoot action thriller, The Commando. May as well get straight to the point with this one.

According to Deadline, White will play the film’s hero, a burnt out DEA officer who returns home suffering from PTSD after a failed mission. There, he finds his family under threat from Rourke’s character. a criminal leader, freshly released from prison, seeking a multi-million dollar stash secreted inside White’s house.

The film is directed by Asif Akbar and is set to shoot in New Mexico next month.

White’s casting pits the two veteran action stalwarts against each other in what should be an entertaining conflict. With a likely release date sometime next year, we’ll let you know more on this one as we have it…
