Lionsgate has brought Military Wives to homes a lot earlier than planned, and it’s now available as a premium digital rental.

After having its promising theatrical run cut short by the Coronavirus spread, the Military Wives movie is the latest to make a faster jump than planned to a premium video on demand service.

The movie, starring Kristin Scott Thomas and Sharon Horgan, is available across such services from today. Distributor Lionsgate has issued an announcement that says it’ll be available “on all premium platforms for a limited time”, and has gone to great lengths to point out its ongoing commitment to cinema too.

As its UK CEO Zygi Kamasa says, “the cinematic experience is key to our industry, and exhibitors continue to be our integral partners and allies. With cinemas closed nationwide due to the current climate, we want to continue to make Military Wives available to consumers”.

The pricing has been set for £15.99, in line with the amount Universal charged for its recent cinema releases on demand. You can find the film here.
