The hugely acclaimed Minari is picked up for UK release – and here’s the trailer for the film, with a few more details.

Due to the understandable delay thank to, well, present circumstances, the vast majority of awards-giving bodies in the world of the movies have held back their nominations and prize shows. When the likes of the Golden Globes and the Oscars do spring into action, keep an eye out for a movie called Minari.

It’s already gathering rich acclaim, with Lee Isaac Chung’s movie debuting at last year’s Sundance Film Festival and picking it a couple of prizes there. Now, it’s on its way to UK cinemas too, with a release date of March 19th announced. Assuming, obviously, that cinemas are open by that point.

The film features Steven Yeun, Han Ye-ri, Yuh-jung Youn and Alan S Kim, and a trailer for the feature has been released to give you a flavour as to what’s in store.

The synopsis for the film, meanwhile, reads as follows…

A tender and sweeping story about what roots us, MINARI follows a Korean-American family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother.  Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, MINARI shows the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home.

More on the movie as we hear it. Really, really looking forward to this one.
