It’s taken longer than expected, but Misbehaviour is getting a DVD release – although there’s no sign of a Blu-ray version.

Released in cinemas last March, Misbehaviour was a film that found its release heavily curtailed by the closure of cinemas that came in just days after it arrived on the big screen. And whilst the movie has had an on demand release to soften the blow since, there’s still a sense that this could have been a solid hit.

The film tells the story of the 1970 Miss World competition, which was ultimately interrupted by a protest from the Women’s Lib movement. It’s a mix of comedy and drama, that was well reviewed when it came out.

Philippa Lowthorpe directed the film, and the cast includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Keira Knightley, Jessie Buckley, Rhys Ifans and Greg Kinnear. And finally, it’s getting its physical DVD release.

The film has popped up on the schedules for release on Monday 7th September in the UK. Disappointingly, it looks like it’s going to be DVD only, with no sign of a Blu-ray release. But for now, you can find more information and preorder the movie here.
