Jared Leto takes on the role of Morbius, in the next Spider-Man spin-off movie from Sony: here’s the trailer for the upcoming film.

The Sony Spider-Man Cinematic Universe, as nobody is yet really calling it, appears to be in rude health off the back of the box office returns for Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spiderman: No Way Home. So much so that the studio is plotting several more films (surely including Venom 3), of which Morbius is going to be the next.

This one stars Jared Leto in the lead role of Michael Morbius, in a film that’s been directed by Daniel Espinosa (his sci-fi film Life we maintain was as good a recent Alien clone as you’ll find). Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal and Tyrese Gibson join Leto in the cast, and by the sounds of it, he didn’t go all Suicide Squad method when preparing for this particular comic book role. Look up how he prepared to play The Joker in that aforementioned movie if you’ve no idea what we’re talking about!

Sony, anyway, has released the brand new trailer for Morbius, which is heading into cinemas on March 31st (following its most recent delay from January). And here’s what it looks like…

And here’s the trailer that was released last November for good measure too…

We’ll leave you for the minute with the synopsis for the movie…

One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?
