A brand new book that mixes Midsomer Murders and Choose Your Own Adventure lands in stores – more details here.

It is a bylaw long since passed on the internet that if you have a website, and you also have a book coming out, then you’re allowed a special dispensation to use one to promote the other.

With that in mind, I’m a bit pinching myself that today is the release date for one of the most leftfield ideas I’ve ever been involved with.

I’m thrilled to have written the first official Midsomer Murders interactive novel, a Choose Your Own Adventure-style story where the challenge is to solve a mystery and try not to get yourself killed in a very Midsomer Murders-kind of way.

My huge thanks to ITV and the wonderful folks at Octopus for trusting me with this. Whilst I’ve done a book or two before, this is the first time I’ve ever written a piece of fiction – certainly of this size – and thus I’m both nervous and excited that it’s out in the world.

You can find the book here, and I hope you like it. Don’t blame me if you come a cropper…
