The latest National Theatre At Home production for free streaming goes live from tonight, with Gillian Anderson starring.

Whilst it looks as though Andrew Lloyd Webber’s programme of releasing musicals for free streaming has come to an end,  the National Theatre At Home is continuing for at least another month. This is where filmed theatre productions that had previously been screened in cinemas are being made available for free.

Each production is available for seven days on the National Theatre YouTube channel, and from tonight, there’s a chance to see the hugely acclaimed 2014 stage adaptation of A Streetcar Named Desire.

This particular production stars Gillian Anderson, Ben Foster and Rebecca Kirby, and note that this one comes with a 15 certificate. You’ll be able to see the play below, or click through of course to go straight to the YouTube channel direct…

As always, the National Theatre has provided an official cast list, that you can find here.

The performance goes live from 7pm tonight. It runs for three hours and 25 minutes, and you have until next Thursday to watch it. We’ll leave you with the synopsis…

Gillian Anderson (All About Eve, The X-Files, The Fall, Sex Education) plays Blanche DuBois with Ben Foster (Lone Survivor, Kill Your Darlings) as Stanley and Vanessa Kirby (Julie, The Crown, Mission Impossible) as Stella.

As Blanche’s fragile world crumbles, she turns to her sister Stella for solace – but her downward spiral brings her face to face with the brutal, unforgiving Stanley Kowalski.

This critically acclaimed production was filmed live on stage at the Young Vic in 2014 by National Theatre Live.
