Netflix releases Vivo musical clip

Netflix has released an extended clip from new animated musical Vivo ahead of its August release.

Vivo is arriving on Netflix on the 6th August and to get audiences excited, a small musical clip from the film has been released online.

Showcasing Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) as Vivo, it sees the titular kinkajou singing about his fear for the journey ahead, before being joint in a spirit rousing duet by newcomer Ynairaly Simo’s Gabi.

As well as starring Miranda and Sino, Vivo will feature voices from Zoe Saldana (Guardians Of The Galaxy), Gloria Estefan, Michael Rooker (Guardians Of The Galaxy) and more. The screenplay was written by Kirk DeMicco (The Croods) who also directs with Brandon Jeffords co-directing. It will feature new and original songs from Miranda.

Vivo was originally due to release in cinemas by Sony Pictures Animation, but will now release on Netflix. It was announced only yesterday that the previous joint release from Sony and Netflix, The Mitchells Vs The Machines, has become the streaming sites largest animated film so we are sure to see more joint release from the two studios in the future.

Vivo debuts on Netflix on the 6th August 2021.
