Ready for more screen adventures of The Witchers? Netflix releases a brand new promo for a new animated movie.

There really is rather a lot of choice if you’re a follower of The Witcher franchise at the moment. If you’re a fan of the books, the games, maybe the TV show, you’ll be happy to know that Netflix is adding another medium to the franchise’s growing collection, this time in the form of an animated film. Furthermore, it’s an animated movie that will serve as a prequel to the TV show, entitled Nightmare of the Wolf.

Set before the time of Geralt, the franchise’s main hero, the film looks set to explore the adventures of his mentor, Vesemir, who has been known to pop up from time to time in the games. Although it appears that a younger version of the character will be the main focus in the upcoming film as this brief synopsis suggests:

Before Geralt, there was Vesemir — a cocky young witcher who delights in slaying monsters for coin. When a dangerous new power rises on the Continent, Vesemir learns that some witchering jobs are about more than just money…

The film is set to release on Netflix on August 23rd. The streaming giant has even released a snazzy little date trailer that you can check out below. Just remember to throw a coin to your witcher once you’re done.
