In 2020’s latest twist, a brief tease for a new Die Hard project over the weekend turns out to be Bruce Willis now selling car batteries to us.

Hmmmm. Before Disney bought up 20th Century Fox, one of the projects on the latter’s slate had been Die Hard: Year One, a movie that would have told the backstory of Bruce Willis’ John McClane, whilst also being part set in the present day.

Willis was up for it, Die Hard 4.0 director Len Wiseman was due to come back to direct. Yet it’s believe the project died as part of the ultimate corporate takeover that ensued.
