Paramount Pictures confirms that Star Trek is heading back to the big screen in 2023, with the surprise reveal of a new film.
Paramount has made a few tucks and changes to its upcoming schedule of releases, and one sizeable surprise that it’s landed in the midst of them all is the confirmation of a brand new Star Trek movie.
Whilst the franchise is hugely active on streaming services, with multiple series now running and a near-unbroken year of Trek ahead of us, things have been trickier when it comes to the 14th feature film. Quentin Tarantino at one stage came close to getting a Star Trek project going before backing away. More recently, Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley was developing a new film, but the suggestion was this project had hit the buffers too.
Now, Paramount has confirmed that whatever the new Star Trek movie is will be with us on June 9th 2023. As of yet, we don’t know which take the studio has gone with, which cast it’ll involve, and, basically, what the plan is. As we hear more, we’ll keep you posted…
