The classic horror tale Sleepy Hollow is getting a brand new big screen reboot: more details here.

Washington Irving’s iconic horror The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow has been adapted for the screen numerous times, with perhaps the most famous version headlined by Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci in Tim Burton’s 1999 film.

The Legend of the title tells the tale of Ichabod Crane, a schoolmaster from Connecticut who ends up having to do battle with the fearsome spectre of the Headless Horseman.

Lindsey Beer is writing, directing and producing the new adaptation. She is currently in post production on her directorial debut, a further adaptation of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary, which is was announced last year.

She is currently one of the most in demand writers in the industry after signing an overall deal with Paramount. She has also been working on the latest iteration of the scripts for no less than three studio features – Star Trek for Paramount, Bambi for Disney and Hello Kitty for New Line.

A release date has yet to be announced, but we’ll update you as we hear more.
