France McDormand leads the cast of Chloe Zhao’s new film Nomadland – here’s a trailer for the acclaimed feature.

Even though awards season has been slightly delayed this year for fairly obvious reasons, it doesn’t mean that the assorted contenders aren’t already jockeying for position. And one that’s already featuring prominently is the excellent Nomadland, starring Frances McDormand.

The film is from director Chloe Zhao, and also features amongst its cast non-actors who are living the life portrayed in the movie.

Here’s the brand new trailer and official synopsis to give you an idea as to what’s in store…

And the synopsis reads…

Following the economic collapse of a company town in rural Nevada, Fern (Frances McDormand) packs her van and sets off on the road exploring a life outside of conventional society as a modern-day nomad. The third feature film from director Chloé Zhao, NOMADLAND features real nomads Linda May, Swankie and Bob Wells as Fern’s mentors and comrades in her exploration through the vast landscape of the American West.
