Onward heads to on demand in the UK early

Pixar’s latest movie is heading to disc in June, after having its cinema release cut short earlier this year – details here.

It was a crying shame that Disney and Pixar’s quite lovely Onward didn’t get much of a theatrical run, courtesy of the shutdown of cinemas around the world. It’s likely to sit as the lowest grossing of the Pixar movies, and whilst money absolutely isn’t the most important thing, it’s still the measure by which films tend to be assessed in big corporations.

The film has now been listed for disc release on June 1st 2020, and Disney will be offering it in DVD, Blu-ray, Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray formats. Disney seems to be the last studio supporting the latter.

Extra features are listed as follows:

  • Audio Commentary with Filmmakers
  • Quest for Story
  • Citizens of New Mushroomton

No confirmation as of yet if all of those features are on each format, but we’ll update when we know more.

What’s more, it’s now been confirmed that the UK on demand release has been fast-tracked. It’ll be available from Monday 4th May.

You can see the disc listing here.
