British comedy drama Our Ladies has dropped off the UK release schedule, having previously been set for its debut next month.

UPDATE: We think we’ve signed a piece of paper that says we can’t tell you how much we love Our Ladies. The film had originally been set for release on April 6th before matters took hold. Then it was pushed back to September 11th. And just this week, it’s now been taken off the UK cinema release schedule. This is just the kind of film that needs support and deserves to be on lots of people’s radars. As soon as we have a new date, or new release plans, we’ll let you know.

Here’s our story from earlier in the year when the trailer first landed.

This looks great. Heading into UK cinemas soon is Our Ladies, a film that comes loaded with positive reviews off the back of its screenings at festivals thus far.

The movie stars Eve Austin, Tallulah Greive, Abigail Lawrie, Sally Messham, Rona Morison, Marli Siu, Stuart Martin, Jack Greenlees and Kate Dickie. The plot sees a bunch of Scottish schoolgirls who head to Edinburgh to take part in a choir competition, and fun and games duly ensue.

Michael Caton-Jones has directed this one, working from a screenplay he penned himself based on Alan Warner’s novel. And the official trailer and synopsis for the film has landed. Here’s a taste of what’s in store…

And the synopsis reads…

Our Ladies follows a group of Scottish schoolgirls on a day trip to Edinburgh to perform in a choir competition. For these teens from a small town in the Scottish Highlands, it becomes a chance to escape their daily lives and run riot in the big city. With few expectations for their futures, Orla (Tallulah Greive), Finnoula (Abigail Lawrie), Manda (Sally Messham), Kay (Eve Austin), Chell (Rona Morison) and Kylah (Marli Siu) are determined to live for every moment in this raucous tale of love, life and true friendship.
