A third Paddington movie will follow the newly-announced return to television for the bear.

Ben Whishaw will be lending his voice to Paddington Bear quite a lot over the coming years. It’s been confirmed that he’ll be returning for a newly-announced Paddington TV series, that’s being produced by Studio Canal, Nickelodeon and David Heyman’s Heyday Films.

The new TV show will be aimed at pre-school children, and it’s in production now at the company Blue Zoo. Adam Shaw is directing, and Jon Foster and James Lamont have written and developed the new show.

It’ll be on television screens in 2020.

Also as part of the official announcement of the new show comes the ongoing confirmation that Paddington 3 is still being developed as a feature film. Whether or not Paul King returns to direct that seems to be the key question at the moment, but he’s attached elsewhere for the time being.

More as we hear it.
