Palmer sees Justin Timberlake as an ex-convict in a changing world, tasked with raising a gender non-conforming child.

It’s been a good while since we’ve seen Justin Timberlake bring his acting talents to the big screen, but he’s about to return inĀ Palmer.

That said, this isn’t technically to the big screen as this is an Apple TV+ launch. In it, Timberlake plays Eddie Palmer, a former high school football hero whose star has fallen low following a stint in prison. Now released back into society, Palmer lives with his grandmother in his hometown in Louisiana but is haunted by the successes of his past.

When his hedonistic neighbour, played by Juno Temple, disappears on a protracted bender, Palmer is tasked with taking care of her son, Sam, a child often bullied for his gender non-conformity.

The film is helmed by actor/director Fisher Stevens. It’s set to debut on Apple TV+ on January 29th, 2021. The trailer looks like it has potential, and you can check it out below.
